the Leader Impact-5 (LI-5, v 1.8)

The Leader Impact-5 highlights favorite blogs I’ve read this week on living, loving, leading. learning and leaving a legacy.  Also, this week I’ve included an added bonus: Laugh loudly. Enjoy and grow!

Live Well. What is the difference between happy people and unhappy people? Of course, it may be very obvious: happy people are happy while unhappy people are unhappy, right?  But what do happy people do differently.  The Purpose Fairy answers that question in 15 Powerful Things Happy People Do Differently.

Love Deeply. One way for leaders to express love is by believing in others and passing the baton of responsibility to them. @andreabuczynski has some great reflections on her blog: Need Leaders?

Lead Courageously.  @willmancini is called the clarity evangelist.  Creating clarity in our organizations requires courageous leadership.  He has some great tips at: Facebook’s Five Core Values and What it Means for your Ministry.

Learn Continuously.  Successful leaders are continual learners.  They are humble enough to know they don’t know it all. Tim Milburn @timage blogs about developing lifelong leaders.  Last week I read his blog, When You Stop Growing, You Start Plateauing.  Great encouragement to keep learning!

Leave a Legacy.  Leaders work with all kinds of people. As we assess the kinds of people we hire and recruit, it is also important to evaluate the kind of people we are for others.  Are you VTP, VIP or VDP?  Read Who Are You? You might also want to follow @terrymorgan11 blog MaturitasCafe.

Laugh Loudly.  “Power does not corrupt. Fear corrupts… perhaps the fear of a loss of power.” ~ John Steinbeck
